Staycation with NDPubico2018
Have you seen that meme about needing a moisturizer that hides the fact that I’ve been tired since 2010? I feel like a lot of people can relate to that.
These days I’ve been feeling quite stressed and exhausted, my days have been super long so it doesn’t give me much time to take care of my skin, or rest. I know there shouldn’t be any excuses for letting yourself go but that’s life and I know I’m not the only person feeling this way! Nowadays our society and social media kind of pressure us to feel like that if we aren’t doing something then we’re wasting time or being lazy. So it’s easy to get caught up in life trying to do as many things as we possibly can.
Anyway, I decided that since I haven’t had a vacation since I came back to Korea in June 2018 (?!) I thought I would do a weekend staycation with my friend and of course I had to bring along my skincare routine. I’ve recently switched up my routine and I want to stick to it because I think it’s been helping a lot. I also brought along a few products for my friend to try out too!
(Korean language time: in Korea a staycation is called 호캉스 pronounced “hoh-kang-seu”)
My favorite product from Natural Derma Project in this hot stressful season has been the Cica Bio-Placenta Cream. I know this is not the most appealing name, but bio-placenta is actually not as weird as it sounds, it is an ingredient derived 100% from plants which helps to make your skin more radiant and youthful.
The other key ingredient in the NDP Cica Bio-Placenta Cream is Centella Asiatica, extracted from Madagascar, which calms skin and reduces redness. This is EXACTLY what I need!! I love pairing this cream with the Green Caper Toner from our brand which will be released soon (wahoo!).
I’m really picky with moisturizers because my skin is so sensitive and reacts to anything that is too heavy but also a lot of “light” moisturizers don’t hydrate my skin sufficiently. COMBINATION SKIN STRUGGLES ARE REAL.
I love the texture of the cica cream because it feels soooooooo refreshing, it feels like a gel but it is soft and not sticky at all. When I apply it, my skin feels replenished but not suffocated which is the perfect balance that I need. It’s a great moisturizer for summertime and also stressful times. I’m not sure if it’s just me but it also has a cooling sensation, so I feel like it’s calming my skin down from the moment I apply it.
I would like to share with you guys how I’ve been incorporating the Cica Bio-Placenta Cream into my routing at the moment. I usually use it at night in my evening routine. My evening routine is now as follows:
- Remove eye makeup – with 7 Beautiful Skin Micellar Cleansing Water.
- Cleanse- with Vichy Normaderm Deep Cleansing Purifying Gel, something I learned recently is that with gel cleansers they penetrate deeper and more effectively cleanse your face if you don’t use water first.
- Tone – with Natural Derma Project Green Caper Toner (will be released soon).
- Face mask (if time) – I usually use calming face masks with Aloe or Tea Tree.
- Moisturize – with Natural Derma Project Cica Bio-Placenta Cream.
- Drink water!!!!!
I guess, the moral of this blog post is that when you’re stressed out it really shows in your skin. It’s hard to limit stress but you can mitigate the effects on your skin.
stressed you = stressed skin
So, take care of yourself and take care of your skin, they go hand in hand!
